High Ropes Course Opens at Ogmore

On the 13th July 2005, Mr Alun Pugh AM - Minister for Culture, Welsh Language and Sport officially opened the Centre's purpose built high ropes course. The course includes two climbing / abseiling walls, a Jacobs ladder and a climbing (telegraph) pole from the top of which the brave can leap to the trapeze.

Since the opening day, Ogmore Centre has hosted a week of day courses where young children from within the local schools have had the opportunity to take part in outdoor activity events. Not only have they used this fantastic new climbing facility, but have also enjoyed archery, mountain biking and orienteering.

The high ropes course, archery equipment and future purchase of kite equipment has been funded thanks to a New Opportunity Fund (NOF) Lottery Grant.
